    Description

Vietnam War US Army Special Forces 5th Group green beret, complete with 5th Group flash and SF distinctive insignia. The beret appears to possibly have had a cotton liner, evidenced by the remains surrounding the interior stiffener. The black headband is solid, showing extensive fading, particularly along the front edge. The interior stiffener is solid, but shows extensive wear, with some of the black cotton covering missing. The green wool is in great condition, showing a loss of early knap, having a "salty" look. The flash is fully embroidered, being held to the beret by the distinctive insignia only. It shows wear around it's edge, but is solid. The distinctive insignia is the clutch-back variety, and shows no appreciable wear. The inside of the headband measures approximately 21 inches. Since these were typically worn high on the head, then may fall around a size 7?
