RARE: Early Vietnam Era US Army M1C Paratrooper Helmet "Steel Pot" w/CAPAC Liner & OD Green Pattern Cover - Very Nice Condition - Original
Up for sale is a Rare Early Vietnam Era US Army M1C Paratrooper Helmet.  More commonly known as the "Steel Pot"
.  It is used, see photo's for Condition.  Both the liner and the steel pot have the Original Paint.  This helmet consists of the following componets:
Rear Seam Steel Pot w/correct paratrooper chin straps - Very Nice condition.
CAPC Fiberglass w/OD Green HBT
suspension. Good Condition,  minor corrosion on the metal clips.  Some tears in the suspension.
OD Green HBT & Leather sweat band w/all clips.  Very Nice Condition, leather is soft and pliable.  Very Faint markings are visible, the markings are not legible, see photo.  This style sweatband was used in the mid to late 1950's
Neckband, Nice Condition.  Contract date is no longer legible.
The chin strap is in good condition, no fraying.  These are the correct paratrooper chin straps with the snaps (see photo's).
Excellent Condition "A" harness buckles on the liner w/the paratrooper chin strap.
OD Green Pattern Helmet Cover.  Excellent Condition, no rips or tears, no fraying and no color fading.  These covers were not marked, these were used in the mid 1950's through the very early 1960's.
An original brown leather chin strap with the blued hardware, very soft and supple.  Correct for this vintage helmet.
